    some others: cut your food into tiny pieces so that somehow the meal lasts longer and you magically eat less; eat veggies first then the carby/proteiny/delicious part so you don’t “overindulge;” and pound water before the meal so you get too full to actually eat your meal (come on, seriously?).

      I’ve heard some of those too – “tricking” our bodies into thinking they’ve had enough, as though they won’t know an hour or two later!

    Wear your belt or clothes uncomfortably tight to remind you not to overeat.

      Ha I did this for at least a decade. I now wear clothes that fit. I actually seem to have a bit of a sensory issue if clothes touch me too much due to that long habit of choking my middle.

      My ridiculous tip smelling food scented pens they were suppose to reduce your appetite for sweets because hey you just smelled something nice??

    My “favorite” was not only leaving the salad dressing on the side, but never having cheese on the salad. Now I’m a salad-loving fat chick, but it is a rare occasion that I don’t want cheese on my greens, TYVM. Some nice sharp cheddar really just finishes it all off, plus gives me needed calcium!
    And I do have to say that I have tried steamed broccoli with lemon and it’s pretty tasty! That is the ONLY veggie that I want to steam and dress with lemon, the rest ate lovely as you said, in many ways!
    Oh! and baked potatoes with just salsa and veggies…can’t have the calories of butter or sour cream…or sweet potatoes instead of regular. A baked tater has lots of potassium, and the butter and sour cream have calcium. Plus it’s just darn tasty! (darn…now I want a baked potato…)

    I love it! My favorite salad to make at home is baby greens, stilton blue cheese, toasted pecans and balsamic dressing…so delicious and the exact opposite of a diet salad.

    I’ve also heard about the salsa on baked potato – I can’t imagine something worse, personally (no offense to those who like it). Now go have yourself a great baked potato made the way you want it!
