Dietitians Unplugged Podcast – Episode 7: Making Peace With Exercise
Do you hate “exercise?” So do we! Sort of…Episode 7 is here, and in it, Aaron and I talk about how, after making peace with food, we’ve also made peace with our relationship to moving our bodies. We also talk about fitness trackers, our different approaches to getting activity in our lives, and why we actually hate the word “exercise!”
Here is The Atlantic magazine infographic we referred to during the podcast.

Can’t wait to listen! I listened to your first episode while walking with my daughter yesterday and just loved it. It’s amazing to listen and think, “AHH I have been having these same thoughts for years now!!!” So happy I came across your blog and subsequently your podcast. 🙂
I’ve just discovered your blog and am immediately drawn to making peace with exercise. Exercise was the key thing that triggered my Anorexia and I haven’t got over it yet. All day my head screams at me to keep moving, keep burning calories. i’m not allowed to rest.
I’ll be following with interest.
Just listened tonight while walking the dog through the park. Passed the outdoor crossfit camp, half a dozen runners, the kids on the playground swings, the parents lounging in the grass enjoying the moment of stillness at the end of the day. Loved your message the whole way.
[…] I usually try to include some vegetables I like as a part of my lunch and someone will inevitably say, “Oh, you’re SO good.” (They will say the same thing if I take a walk after lunch, something I enjoy very much. For more about how I hate people “healthing” all over my exercise, take a listen here.) […]
Wow, this is so timely & helpful! After a lifetime of struggle, I’ve been trying to reframe my view towards a healthy lifestyle as a low cost, easy, fun, joyful, and being kind to my wonderful self kina thing, as I hurtle towards my 60’s.
