The Weight You’re Supposed to Be

  1. Amy says:

I love this Glenys O! This is the reason I want people to smash their scales and ignore BMI junk because there is no size you are supposed to be! You are supposed to be happy, open, excited and fulfilled by your life – and you can be that at any size! Sure, we dietitians can help you form habits that will help support a happy, open, excited, and fulfilled life but as we know, we can’t wave a magic wand and change your size. What if you are just supposed to be…you?
    Great post as always x

Yes, yes, and yes! Thank you for this post.

  3. Well said. I am on board!

  4. Totally. A big part of recovery from diet mentality for me was just accepting things as they were. Realising my body is the size it is regardless of if I insult it, hate it, wish it was different.. I can choose to be happy in this body or miserable in it and I know which I prefer! Great post ☺

This is great! I love the part when you said that weight is not a health behavior; it’s a size. Such an important message that changing health behaviors can start at any size.
